🏈KOBE FRANCISCO
Chasing Finish Lines
At first glance, Kobe Francisco seems like someone living three different lives at once. He’s a content creator with a growing online community, an actor managed by Cornerstone Entertainment, and a dedicated endurance athlete training for some of the toughest races in the world. Yet somehow, he makes it all work through discipline.
Shot around FIP Makati campus, Kobe brings the same energy to our COOL Varsity feature that he brings to every marathon. Whether he's preparing for a race, or filming content, one thing remains constant: he shows up ready to give his best.
Born under the sign of Taurus, Kobe's determination is evident in both his athletic and professional pursuits. While many know him through his lifestyle and fitness content, there is another side to him that thrives long before most people are awake. He typically starts his day between 5:00 and 6:00 in the morning, making time for swimming, cycling, running, or gym sessions before tackling the rest of his responsibilities.
That commitment comes from years of learning independence while growing up in Thailand. Having lived in Thailand for nearly a decade, Kobe (whose best guess at writing his name in Thai is 'โคบี’) credits the experience with shaping him into the person he is today. Living away from family taught him responsibility, and the importance of managing his own future. Thailand became more than just a place he lived; it became a second home filled with memories, and lessons that continue to influence his life.
His athletic journey has already taken him through major endurance events, including Ironman races and marathons. One of the most challenging experiences he's faced was competing in Ironman 70.3 Kenting in Taiwan, where intense heat, humidity, and unforgiving winds tested both his physical and mental strength.
"The best part of race day is crossing the finish line," he says.
That mindset reflects his admiration for one of his biggest inspirations, Kobe Bryant. Beyond sharing a name, Kobe Francisco looks up to the basketball legend's discipline, work ethic, and commitment to continuous improvement. It's a philosophy he applies to every area of his life.
Balancing multiple careers requires careful planning, something Kobe takes seriously. He maps out his schedule days in advance, organizing training sessions, content shoots, and projects to maximize every hour. While audiences only see the photo finish, they rarely witness the countless hours spent planning, filming, editing, and sometimes starting over to achieve the desired result.
"People only see the finished content," he explains. "There's a lot that happens behind the scenes."
When he's not training or creating content, Kobe enjoys life's simple rewards. His current song on repeat is "Japanese Denim" by Daniel Caesar, and while he doesn't believe in cheat meals, he occasionally treats himself to burgers, fries, pizza, fried chicken, or cookies-and-cream ice cream; it seems like he just wants to eat everything. His gym bag essentials are straightforward: GU energy gels, protein bars, and a large water jug ready for whatever challenge the day brings.
Looking ahead, Kobe dreams of competing at the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii; one of the most prestigious events in endurance sports. For now, however, his focus is locked on a more immediate goal: securing a podium finish in his age group at Ironman 70.3 Cebu this August 9th. COOL Magazine wishes him the very best of LUCK!
Whether he's chasing race medals, creating content, or pursuing opportunities in acting, Kobe Francisco continues to prove that success isn't about choosing one passion over another. It's about having the discipline to pursue all of them wholeheartedly.
And if his bicycle could talk, it would probably say, "Can I get more rest days?" as he laughs.
For now, though, Kobe isn't slowing down. The medals may keep piling up, but he's already looking ahead to the next adventure. #CoolisinSession #CoolVarsity
