TAKASHI MURAKAMI x CASETiFY
CASETiFY and Takashi Murakami have unveiled the subsequent release of their highly successful FLOWERS BLOOM collection, presenting a new series of special products and limited edition phone cases. The initial TAKASHI MURAKAMI x CASETiFY: FLOWERS BLOOM offering achieved landmark status as one of CASETiFY’s highest-selling collaborations, setting the stage for these new, eagerly anticipated offerings.
FLOWERS, one of Murakami’s most recognizable motifs, draws inspiration from his studies of Nihonga (Japanese painting), while also giving the nod to the classical theme of ‘setsugetsuka’ (snow, moon, flowers). By interpreting these traditional forms and connecting them to contemporary art, Murakami developed his own iteration of FLOWERS, which embodies his concept of ‘Superflat.’ The use of gold in particular pays homage to the refined technique of gold foil in traditional Japanese art, a theme Murakami has often referenced to bridge historical aesthetics with contemporary culture.
One of the key features of the collection, the FLOWERS RIPPLE PHONE CASE, will be made available through a special blind box mechanism, a playful approach that builds on the collaboration’s foundation. Blurring the line between fine art and commercial product, the blind boxes invite fans to collect their favorite designs. Collectors may purchase individual blind boxes or acquire a set of four, increasing their chance to receive the RAINBOW case as a coveted rare variant, and the shimmering FLOWERS 18K GOLD PLATE PHONE CASE as an ultra-rare version. This unique format adds a layer of surprise and collectibility, allowing enthusiasts to engage with Murakami's world and his iconic FLOWERS motif in an entirely new way.
Collectors will have the chance to try their luck with the FLOWERIAN DANGLER BLIND BOX. This collectible item features a small FLOWERIAN figure designed to attach to a wide range of phone cases or devices. Each blind box contains one of five colorways: rainbow, pink, blue, red, and black. The collection will be available online and at select CASETiFY Studio locations.
