⭐️SUNNY SIDE UP

In a generation of rising stars shaped by digital fandoms, book adaptations, and nonstop schedules, Rabin Angeles and Angela Muji stand out for one defining reason: they remain deeply grounded even as their careers move at lightning speed. From emotionally heavy roles to international shoots, the RabGel duo is proving that evolution isn’t just about fame — it’s about gratitude and relentless passion for the craft.

The Actors Behind the Characters

Their breakout projects — from a beloved Wattpad universe to the emotionally charged film A Werewolf Boy — pushed both actors into unfamiliar creative territory. Yet despite the overwhelming reception, neither claims to have changed as a person.

Angela describes their mindset simply: success or failure, they always return to the same foundation — preparation, gratitude, and trust. For her, the greatest gift from audiences is not applause, but belief in their ability to deliver. Rabin echoes this sentiment, emphasizing that while the projects revealed new sides of them as performers, who they are at their core remains unchanged.

What has evolved is their emotional range. One memorable scene for Angela, she recalled a challenging, rain-slicked scene. She admitted to being intimidated by the emotional weight of the climax and mentioned that being shouted at by Director Chris for the first time actually helped her tap into the necessary intensity. Rabin’s most memorable bond happened during a scene where Angela’s character feeds him bananas; he was so full but kept eating because he didn't want to waste food.

The Wattpad Pressure — and Power

Stepping into roles with massive built-in fanbases is both a blessing and a burden. For Rabin and Angela, the pressure isn’t just external expectations — it’s internal standards. Angela explains that the most difficult pressure is the one you place on yourself: the desire to improve and honor the story’s legacy.

Still, they embrace the challenge. Rather than aiming to perfectly match fans’ imagined versions of their characters, they focus on delivering authentic, human portrayals. This philosophy is especially evident in the evolution of Drake Palma and Alys Perez in the upcoming second season, Dating Alys Perez — a relationship that grows more intense, complex, and emotionally layered in the second installment.

For Rabin, playing Drake means leaning into imperfection. The character doesn’t magically transform — he remains unpredictable and painfully human. "Actually, Drake Palma doesn't really change in Dating Alys Perez," Rabin warns with a grin. "His attitude is still bad—maybe even worse! You’ll be more annoyed with him, but..." he pauses, "he's a total 'simp' for Alys now."

Angela adds that the beauty of the story lies in its flaws. "Alys tries to fix her life, but Drake... he stays human. He’s not perfect, and that’s what makes it realistic. It’s a healthy pressure to adapt these books because we want to strive for excellence, not mediocrity."

That realism, they both agree, is exactly what keeps audiences invested.

Dubai Dreams: When Work Feels Like Fantasy

The Barrio Fiesta event in Dubai served as the primary reason for the duo's Middle East trip, providing a heart-swelling opportunity for them to connect with the Filipino community and feel the overwhelming support of OFWs firsthand. Both Rabin and Angela expressed immense gratitude to Viva Middle East and their partners for meticulously "cooking up" the logistics of the tour, acknowledging that their dream of performing on an international stage wouldn't have been possible without the team's dedicated efforts.

For their COOL Magazine cover, the team took the pair to the shimmering waters of the Dubai Marina. While the photos show effortless glamour, the reality was a mix of awe and adrenaline. "A part of me just wanted to stop and stare," Angela admits, her eyes lighting up. "I was so in awe of Dubai... working there was a dream come true. Even the modeling and posing—what more on a yacht in freaking Dubai? It felt so out of reach."

Rabin, ever the relatable guy-next-door, adds with a laugh: "First time ko makapag yacht, tapos ang ganda ng view. Ayoko na matapos yung araw na yun kahit hilong hilo nako, naka ilang bonamine nako pero sobrang nag enjoy ako sa shoot na yun.

An Ode to Hair

Rabin’s transformation into the character Yuri in Ang Mutya ng Section E, required a vibrant, fiery red mane that he admits he initially "hated" due to the high maintenance; his sweat turned his clothes pink, and his towels were constantly stained red. Despite the struggle of matching his wardrobe to such a bold statement, he confesses he now misses the iconic look that signaled his transition from "extra" to lead.

Angela, on the other hand, is currently embracing a medium brown tone, a strategic move to pivot away from her natural black hair, which she says makes her look like a "nene". Her hair journey has been a kaleidoscope of colors—from dark blonde and pink to purple (she hasn’t tried green yet)—but her current focus is on the sensory experience of haircare. She is set to launch Viva Beauty’s GeLaVie. this March, a personal hair mist project she meticulously developed to feature a "fruity, floral, musky, and vanilla" scent. For Angela, the goal is practical elegance: ensuring that fans on the go, whether commuting or at the beach, can keep their hair smelling "perfect" and avoid the dreaded "amoy anit" during the intense Philippine summer.

Gratitude as Their Greatest Achievement

As they look back on a whirlwind 2026, the duo’s final thoughts are for the Gellybins.

"They give us the strength to do what we do," Rabin said. Before his breakout roles in 2026, Rabin started as an extra, notably appearing in projects like How to Love Mr. Heartless starring Diego Loyzaga (where he met and chatted with in a basketball game). He recalls these early days with humility, noting that back then, he was just "extra-extra lang," a far cry from the lead roles and magazine covers he is currently navigating.

Angela is thankful not only for projects, but for unwavering support from family, fans, and their production team — especially during high-pressure releases. Rabin reflects on how surreal it feels to transition from background roles to leading performances, fulfilling dreams he once only prayed for.

Their shared perspective reveals the true foundation of their success: humility.

A Loveteam Built on Hunger and Harmony

What makes RabGel work so seamlessly isn’t just chemistry — it’s alignment. Both actors share the same hunger to grow, support their families, and seize opportunities without hesitation. They balance each other’s strengths: Angela’s introspection and discipline meet Rabin’s natural charisma and social energy.

Together, they’ve created more than a loveteam — they’ve built a partnership rooted in trust, mutual respect, and an unwavering drive to improve.

The Cool Factor

Ultimately, what makes Rabin Angeles and Angela Muji “COOL” isn’t their fame, fashion, or global shoots. It’s their authenticity — the ability to stay grounded while navigating an industry built on constant change.

On Rabin: "He has such initiative," Angela says. "He’s charismatic and social—as an introvert, I get a boost of confidence just being around him. He’s consistent with the little things, like getting you water before you even ask."

On Angela: "She’s so smart," Rabin says instantly. "I call her 'Google' or my teacher. Whatever you ask her, she has an answer. That’s the coolest thing about her."

As their careers continue to evolve, one thing remains certain: whether on a Wattpad page, a film screen, or a yacht in Dubai, their story is only just beginning.
